Valtra unveils new Side Visibility Cab (SVC) offering unparalleled visibility
23.02.2009Valtra unveiled its new SVC Side Visibility Cab at the SIMA exhibition in Paris on 22 February.
The SVC cab features a single pillarless window on the right-hand side and the option of extra-thin mudguards to further improve visibility. A wiper fitted to the side window maintains visibility in rainy conditions. Municipal contractors in particular will appreciate the polycarbonate side and rear windows, which protect the driver from flying rocks and other debris. Combining the SVC features with a forest cab creates the SVC360 cab with unrivalled visibility to the side, rear and upwards. Rear visibility is particularly important in forestry work and when cutting tall hedgerows alongside roads.
The SVC cab was designed according to the needs of road maintenance contractors. The advantages of the new cab are highlighted especially when maintaining roads and roadsides. However, the SVC cab is also ideal for many other types of work. When driving inside buildings, for example when feeding and dispersing bedding in barns, visibility downwards and to the side is essential. The SVC cab is also an advantage when working in forests or on fields when excellent side visibility and protection are required.
Five-pillar cabs have traditionally been used in France, for example on Valtra 6000 Series tractors. The new SVC cab will now be offered in Valtra’s other markets. The SVC cab can be combined with other traditional Valtra features that have been designed for contracting work, such as yellow or orange paint, factory-fitted industrial tyres, a front loader, front linkage, TwinTrac reverse drive controls and front axle suspension.
The SVC cab will be available on all N Series HiTech models from the N82 to the N141. Production of the SVC cab will begin at the Suolahti factory in summer 2009.
